In 2022, me and my team, Eunoia Filmes, developed two complimentary media projects that would interact and relate to theme “I love Salvador” (city in Brazil), as part of our Capstone project for our Bachelors in Cinema and Audiovisual.
“Isso Não É Uma História de Amor” (translated to: “This is Not a Love Story”) is a short film written and directed by Fred Soares, that follows Kira, a young aspiring songwriter and her pursuit to fame and fortune. She meets Tainá on a very awkward first date, and things really don’t seem like they’ll turn out any good. However, on a very uninspiring day, fate crashed them back together again and maybe, just maybe, things could actually coming up for Kira. But will she be able to reconcile her big dreams with her reason to smile?
The short film was first introduced in a documentary – “Dates Ruins (ou Relacionamentos de Curto Curso)” (translated to: “Bad Dates – or Really Short-Term Relationships”), where we asked locals what were some of their worst dating stories in a round table type of situation. One of our locals was Kira, incorporated by our phenomenal actress Liz Vernin, who incorporated the story as well as the mannerisms from the character, and was able to convince the rest of the groups the story was as real as theirs were.
